[brazil-pro] dear ms. aubergine From: ank@gotog.net To: brazil-pro@gotog.net Date: Nov 4, 2004 - 12:27pm november 4th faithful, not sure what to say. in a cafe in salvador called berinjela (eggplant) with green and purple decor. im estimating -- judging by my curtains and window shades -- they must repaint the lovely shades every 15 days. the sun here is just that strong. says something about the will of the people. explains why the multinationals backed out of the work effort. except for ford. its all kind of irrelevant. i got a job consulting on sauces and vegetarian options for an american in salvador, wanting to add a restaurant to his hotel. hes a cool dude, though not exactly on the no-charge idea. we have a long way to go. a computer was stolen from the sanctuary. they apparently climbed up a wall and entered. two nights in a row. not sure how to react, but the coked out landlord did take a hammer to the wall. and -- in case the vizinhos are reading -- we're going to move the compost. there was an election. i heard marijuana has been legalized in some states and mandated in others (if you're straight). they tell me floridians moved to ohio and the president didn't die any sort of death, symbolic or otherwise. vive le rio and it might be true that the nation deserves its leaders. and leads to some confusing conversations in old pousada o bigode, whether this means we should feel more compelled to go back or just to give up on the beast and put the amerikan dream out to suburban pastures... back to the pousada in a couple of hours to paint some large letter on the side of the pousada. marketing. i have all the plastic containers i could want. and am ready to step up the treatment of the solar oven. thanks to all who have struggled and who will continue to do so. know that we are with you, smiling and fermenting and feeling this pain. unsweeted mango juice on line two, ankur
